2017 eSports Circuit League Official Rules – 05/31/2017
Welcome to the 2017 ESC Infinite Warfare Season 3 Online League. The ESCL shall be subject to and governed by the following: (1.) the Call of Duty World League Official Handbook (the “Handbook” or “Rules”); unless otherwise indicated, supplemented or modified. For the avoidance of doubt, these ESCL Rules hereby incorporate by reference the Handbook, including all rules and provisions set forth therein.

These ESCL Rules form a contract between Participants, on the one hand, and eSports Circuit, and applicable affiliates, and operators of the ESC League (the “Administration), on the other hand. If there is an inconsistency between the Handbook or these ESCL Rules, these ESCL Rules shall control.
Violation of the Handbook and/or these ESCL Rules may subject a Participant and or Team to discipline including game forfeitures, prize and points forfeitures, disqualification/removal from the Competition, revocation of a Team license and legal claims, in the Administration’s sole discretion.
ADMINISTRATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND, REMOVE, OR CHANGE THESE ESCL RULES. ANY MATERIAL CHANGES TO THE ESCL RULES WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOU OR POSTED ON THIS WEBPAGE BEFORE THE NEXT SET OF MATCHES IN WHICH THE CHANGED RULES WILL APPLY. PARTICIPATION IN THAT EVENT WILL CONSTITUTE ACCEPTANCE OF THE CHANGED RULES.
RULINGS MAY BE MADE OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF THESE ESCL RULES IN ORDER TO PRESERVE FAIR PLAY AND LEAGUE INTEGRITY. THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL DECIDE ANY MATTERS NOT HEREIN EXPRESSLY PROVIDED FOR AND SUCH DECISIONS SHALL BE FINAL AND BINDING ON PARTICIPANTS. ACCEPTING AN INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ESCL AND/OR PARTICIPATION IN THE ESCL CONSTITUTES YOUR FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL AGREEMENT TO THE HANDBOOK, THESE ESCL RULES AND THE ADMINISTRATION’S DECISIONS, WHICH ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS AND IN ALL RESPECTS. WINNING A PRIZE IS CONTINGENT UPON FULFILLING ALL REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN THE HANDBOOK AND THESE ESCL RULES.
2. Competition Structure
2.1. Season 3 League
Season 3 will consist of one Divisions with a total of Sixteen teams. Each Team will play each team in the division twice in both being best-of-5 series.
Home or Away
Teams will be assigned the label of Home or Away. The Home or Away labels will swap for the second Match between the same Teams. The Home Team will be considered the higher seeded team to assist with hosting of maps online as well as side selections in game.
A Team’s placing is determined by their position in the Division’s standings. Positions in the standings are determined by the total match win/loss records.
Teams finishing the Division in 1st through 8th place will be placed into the Season 3 Playoffs. Teams finishing from 1st to 8th place will also be awarded free Team Passes into the following league for that title if the league does so happen.
Teams finishing in the 9th through 16th place will be eliminated from the league and will have a chance in competing in the following season upon qualifying.
In the event of Teams having the same win/loss record at the conclusion of all Matches, final placing will be determined via Tiebreaker Rules.
Tiebreaker Rules (in order)
● Head to Head Match win percentage (Matches won vs. tied Teams / Matches played vs. tied Teams)
● Head to Head Game win percentage (Games won vs. tied Teams / Games played vs. tied Teams)
● Overall Game win percentage (Overall Games won / overall Games played)
If in any situation where the tie cannot be broken, the teams that are tied will be placed in a best-of-five round robin tiebreaker, until the tie is officially broken.
Tie breakers are to be played prior to Season 3 playoffs, on a date notified in advance by Administration.
2.2. Season 3 Playoffs
Season 3 Playoffs will consist of the top 8 placing Teams from the regular season in an 8 Team double-elimination Bracket.
2.2.1. Playoff Draw
Each team that secures a playoff spot will be seeded into a double-elimination bracket based upon points earned throughout the regular season awarded via the teams W/L Ratio after each league match.
Once a team is dropped down to the loser’s bracket they must win all matches leading up to the Losers Final, and win the loser’s final the secure a spot in the Grand Final against the team coming from the winners final.
Standings for playoff Teams will be determined by what placing the team earns in the playoffs bracket. All playoff Teams will have a chance at re-qualifying for an upcoming league on that game title, if it so does occur. And top three teams will split the advertised prize pool amount, which will be adjusted once the season begins.
All Matches will be played Online.

3.1.4. Week 4 - Regular Season Matches (June 23 - June 25)
3.1.5. Week 5 - Regular Season Matches (June 30 - July 2)
3.1.6. Week 6 - Regular Season Matches (July 7 - July 9)
3.1.7. Week 7 - Regular Season Matches (July 14 - July 16)
3.1.8. Week 8 - Season 3 Playoffs (July 21 - July 22)
3.2. Schedule Changes
All Matches must be played in accordance with the Match schedule provided by Administration. Administration reserves the right to reschedule matches for any reason at any time. Matches may be rescheduled in the case of an emergency at the sole discretion of Administration. Schedule changes will be communicated to all Teams by Administration at the earliest convenience.
Teams are allowed to only reschedule 1/4 total matches per week, after recieving permission from Administration.
4. Team License
A “Team License” is a permit which allows an organization or entity (registered
association, organization, corporation, Individual, etc.) to have a Team in the ESCL. The Team License is granted to an organization or entity at the time the Team qualifies for the League.. A Team License is a non-transferable unless permission is acquired from Administration.
4.1. Ownership Transfer
There shall be no Team License transfers without prior, written approval of Administration. Administration has sole discretion over whether to permit a Team License transfer. All roster restrictions will still apply in the event that the Administration approves the transfer of a Team License. Any purported transfer of a Team License in contravention of the foregoing shall be void.
5. Player Agreements
5.1. Player Names
For the duration of the league, a Player’s Account Name may not be changed until permission is received from Administration.
5.2. Stream Restrictions
Players on the roster of a ESCL Team are encouraged to stream league matches.
ESC Reserves the right to stream any and all league matches, as well as playoff matches.
5.3. Content Publishing
Participants may record and publish footage from Matches of the ESCL for personal use, as approved by the Administration. Administration reserves the right to revoke this privilege at any time, for any reason, as the Administration may elect to do in its sole discretion.
Teams and Players will be required to promote their Matches. Promotions may include, but are not limited to posts on social media platforms. The Administration will provide disclosure language.
6. Roster Rules
Rosters must have four starting players. A Rosters will be considered ineligible if it does not have four Players.
6.2. Roster Submission
Team Owners, Managers or Individual that paid for the Team Pass are responsible for submitting a Team Roster. No Roster submissions will be accepted unless made by Team Owners or Managers or Paying Individual. All Roster submissions must be approved in writing by Administration before taking effect.
6.3. Roster Changes
Teams are allowed to change Two players from the qualifying roster as long as the the player being removed from the roster isn’t the one who paid for the Team Pass for the qualifier, unless that individual wants to willingly leave.
In the event a roster has more than two player changes, each player over the max two eligible limit will have to pay a fine of $2/per player.
Teams are allowed to change two players from the qualifying roster if an org purchased the Qualifier Team Pass.
No Roster changes will be accepted unless made by Team Owners or Managers or Paying Individual.
Changes must be brought up to Administration 24 hours prior to being made official, in the event the change is made day of the league / playoff match, the team must play with one of their two subs listed.
6.4. Meeting Roster Rules
In the event of a Team not meeting roster rules, Administration reserves the right to penalize a Team and/or Player.
In the event of a Team not meeting Roster Rules due to extenuating circumstances, Administration reserves the right to determine the appropriate course of action.
7. Match Rules
All Players are expected to be present and ready to play 30 minutes prior to
a scheduled Match time. Administration must be notified immediately if a Player may be late to a Match. A Team which cannot provide a full and eligible roster 10 minutes before a schedule Match time will automatically forfeit the Match.
Under no circumstances may a Team start a Game with less than four (4) Players.
Delays caused by Players that are not ready to compete at the scheduled time may result in a major penalty determined by Administration.
7.2. Breaks Between Games
There will be a five-minute break in between Games for Players to set up their classes and prepare for the next Game. Teams that fail to provide a full and eligible roster by the end of the break may forfeit the remainder of the Match. Any Player related delays may result in a penalty determined by Administration.
Prizing is adjusted by Administration as soon as the league starts.
Prizing for Season 3:
●1st Place: $500.00
●2nd Place: $350.00
●3rd Place: $150.00
9. Disciplinary Actions
Players are to respect one another including Administration, any signs of disrespect towards players will result in forfeits and or any penalty found fit by Administration.
Any disrespect towards Administration will directly result in a Forfeit of Match and or Map for the team and possibly individual, leaving the team at a disadvantage.
Participation in the ESCL requires players to acknowledge that if they are to participate in the league and or playoffs they agree to follow the rules and guidelines set here by eSports Circuit.
